Sunday-Saturday 8am-10pmThe Stew Leonard's chain rose from modest beginnings -- a small dairy store that opened in Norwalk in 1969 with only seven employees -- to become the world's largest dairy store and, with locations in Norwalk, Danbury, Yonkers, and now Newington, a renowned, inventive grocery store chain as well. A visit to Stew's is fun for the entire family, as it’s so much more than just a traditional supermarket: any of the chain’s three mascots – Clover the Cow, Daphne the Duck, and Cynthia Chick – can routinely be found roaming the aisles at any and all Stew locations, eager to greet customers with a hug or a handshake. And children are actually encouraged to dance in the aisles to songs performed by the store’s state-of-the-art animatronic characters. Oh yeah, and the food is uniformly fresh and of the highest quality as well.
