    Ceremony will include remarks by Goodwin President Mark E. Scheinberg, a performance by an East Hartford-based Ghanaian Catholic choir and refreshments. Guests are also invited to tour collections and exhibits that chronicle the African American experience, including:

    -Ascending!, a mixed media and photography art exhibit in the Community Room, featuring original art and photography from Africa and the Western Hemisphere, compiled by Robert Hudson.

    - An African and African American Art Exhibition in Room 206, hosted by History Professor Paul LaRocca.

    -The College’s Alex Haley Collection, which includes original research for Roots, historic documents, and slavery artifacts. Located in the Hoffman Family Library.
