Eric Dahlin, cellist, is the assistant principal cellist of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and is on the faculty of the Hartt School Community Division. Eric is a native of Minneapolis, and began his studies there with long-time Minnesota Orchestra member Cynthia Eddy Britt. He went on to work with Derek Simpson at the Royal Academy in London, David Wells at the Hartt School, and Aldo Parisot at the Yale School of Music. Mr. Dahlin has performed across the United States and Europe as a chamber musician and soloist.
Pianist Benita Rose of Avon holds a Masters degree from the Hartt School. She and her husband, saxophonist Tony Gibbs, were top-prize winners in the 2008 International Chamber Music and Ensembles Competition. Ms. Rose has performed throughout the world as piano soloist, accompanist, or chamber musician. As proficient an organist as pianist, her career includes being Director of Music Ministries at Avon Congregational Church and Assistant Organist at St. Joseph’s Church in Shelton.
